We headed out to arrive at the Forkland Campground at check in time of 4 pm and to meet up with Pam and Bob who were tent camping down from us. The campsite was a standard Corp for Engineers site with picnic table, fire pit, garbage bag hanger pole and this one was a pull through with power and water. We set up in hurry and started dinner of hopping John jambalaya and forgot to take a picture of our campsite. We enjoyed dinner with Pam and Bob and headed out in the morning for breakfast at Boligee Cafe. After a great Southern breakfast we met up with the Paleontology Club from Birmingham for a field trip to clay gullies in Aliceville. After a hot day of searching for fossils and a picnic lunch in the shade, we headed back to the campground for more boiled peanuts and a pot of homemade chili with cornbread for dinner.
