Joe Wheeler State Park, Rogersville, Alabama

We continued our drive south to get to Joe Wheeler State Park in Rogersville, Alabama. We had a beautifully wooded campsite and we walked down to the lake front where there were no trees but everybody else wanted to be on the water. We enjoyed cooking out and enjoying the scenery and the birds.

2toms Brewery, Harvest Host, Fort Wayne, Indiana

We were finished putting the boat in winter storage by noon and underway south stopping at 2Toms Brewery for the night. It was not a very scenic stop but great food and drink and a quiet night.

Not very scenic here at 2Toms Brewery

Alcona Brew Haus, Harvest Host, Harrisville, Michigan

We continued our drive to Michigan driving up the thumb region. All Michiganders will show you their hand shaped like a mitten and show you where they live. Most of the tourist attractions were closed for the season including the coffee shops along the lake shore where we stopped at a habour of refuge.. We stopped to tour a lighthouse museum along the way back to Cheboygan. The boat launch next to the marina had a huge parking lot for boat trailers so we were able to part our trailer right near our boat.

Bad Apple Brewing Company, Harvest Host, Zurich, Ontario, Canada

We continued our journey across Canada stopping at Bad Apple Brewing Company. We stayed off the TransCanada Highway so we found more backroads. It was breezy day and we found a cozy spot outdoors to enjoy hard ciders made from the apples grown here. We enjoyed a big pretzel with beer cheese, took a nap and came back for a thai peanut pizza. We played some corn hole toss and walked through the orchard which was adjacent to a large wind farm. We were the only folks spending the night so it was peaceful and quiet except for the howling wind.

Rolphton Motel, Rolphton, Ontario Canada to Four Maples VIneyard, Harvest Host in Champlain, New York near Burlington, Vermont

We had a great drive crossing back into Canada and driving along the TransCanada Highway stopping at a small hotel and restaurant for the night. We got up early and headed on to Burlington to pick up our car and trailer and then drop the rental car back at Burlington Airport. We were desperate for lunch so we stopped at Al's French Fry's which was an old fashioned diner for a burger and milkshake. We then headed to Rouses Point  in New York passing the last marina we stayed at before cruising to Canada. Four Maples VIneyard was several miles down the road on a beautiful estate owned by Canadians who had a Jamaican caretaker that gave us a wine tasting with charcuterie board. The tasting room was not open so we had an enjoyable wine tasting and the vineyard to ourselves.
