Jackson Creek Marina, Deltaville, Virginia

We arrived early afternoon at Jackson Creek Marina in Deltaville, Virginia, and parked Cutie on the waterfront near the dock with Dot's Way. On Sunday, we spent the rest of the afternoon moving aboard the boat for boat camping until we got hauled into Deltaville Boatyard for winter storage.

View of Cutie from the Flybridge

Another beautiful sunset off the bow on Jackson Creek

On Monday, we walked to Cafe on the Bay for breakfast and then started on the boat work like changing the oil and filters on the two engines and the generator. We started cleaning out cabinets and packing up what we planned to move back to the house.

Our resident Great Blue Heron

Cutie alongside
Great views of our own Jake as my Dad called the great blues

On Tuesday, we continued with engine work and stripping out the caulking on the flybridge to rebed all along the floor. On Wednesday,  we caulked and began taking down all the canvas and washing it to waterproof. We took off early for happy hour at the nearby Zoll Vineyard in Dutton, Virginia.

Tasting a flight at Zoll's Vineyard
We shared a charcuterie board appetizer that was yummy
A flowering mum as big as a bush
Finished the evening at Southwind's Cafe in Mathews with a pizza on the porch

On Thursday and Friday, we got the canvas waterproofed, put vinyl protectant around the windows,  polished the Lexan hatches, and waxed the sides around the windows. The earliest haul-out day is next Tuesday so we are trying to get everything done that we can while at the dock, We took off early to go to General Ridge's Vineyard in Hague, Virginia as they were having live music with a young, local guitarist.

Well-established vines at General Ridge's Vineyard
Dark as we were leaving so you couldn't see the eagle well on the gate
Great seafood food truck outside for dinner as we sipped and listened to music
Huge taproom venue
The bartender was so sweet and motherly
Tried to capture the wonderful ambiance of the evening

On Saturday we remained on the boat as it rained all day. We drove over to Urbana for the Oyster and Wine Stroll. After receiving our souvenir wine-tasting glasses we started strolling in the rain with our umbrellas and rain jackets to the ten venues to sample wine and enjoy the music and finger foods. Two tents were set up for steamed, fried or grilled oyster sampling, It was a wonderful evening and the rain finally quit near the end of the two hours about town.
