Ashland, Oregon to Wells, Nevada

We were packed up and on the road by 5:30 am with a long drive in front of us. We wound through the mountains and onto the plateaus with the scenery changing from evergreens on the mountains to the lack of trees. The temperature rose to 101 as we crossed over into Nevada. We were concerned that we might run out of gas as there was very little along our route. We changed our mind about going 12 miles up the mountain to Angel Lake Campground in the National Forest and instead stopped at Angel Lake RV Resort in Wells, Nevada. We were able to do laundry during happy hour and with the strong breeze eat dinner outdoors at the picnic table while the camper cooled down with the air conditioner plugged in.
