Luz Del Cielo Winery, Harvest Host, Belen, New Mexico

We bid farewell to Willcox and were underway by 8 am on our way towards Albuquerque, New Mexico. We had a great late breakfast in Deming at the Sunrise Cafe. We passed by wildlife and nature preserves on our way past the towns of  Hatch and Truth and Consequences. We found our way to Luz Del Cieol Winery as we were met at the automatic gate by the owner and winemaker. We parked at the edge of the alfalfa field and watched the sandhill cranes graze. We went to his barn for the wine tasting and had the most enjoyable time tasting our way through the eight wines and hearing all the stories behind the winemaking. It was dark by the time we left under the starry skies to cook dinner in Cutie.
