We left on Monday morning headed to Ohio with our first night's stop at Goat Island Brewery in Cullman, Alabama. We stopped first at Easley Covered Bridge remembering when we did a club bicycle ride to the three covered bridges in the country. The next stop was Ave Maria Grotto on the grounds of St. Bernard Monastery for a walk through the cemetery and miniature stone monuments. The last stop was at Smith Farms Country Meat Store before arriving at Goat Island Brewery. Unfortunately, the taproom was unexpectedly closed for construction so we cruised another hour to Lake Guntersville State Park. It was happy hour and we found a shady campsite overlooking the lake to enjoy our smoked chicken salad dinner.
We have also booked Harvest Host locations at an alpaca farm and a winery after a night near the Ocoee Watersports Park in Cherokee National Forest. We have a great route mapped out west after our stop in Ohio.
