Agawa Bay Campground in Lake Superior Provincial Park, Frater, Ontario, Canada

We got an early start and stopped at Tim Horton's, the McDonalds of Canada but better food and coffee as there were no restaurants open on Sunday in Nipigon. Driving along the TransCanada Highway, we stopped at the gas station/lighthouse in Terrace Bay. We stopped for a lunch of poutine at Mr. Chips food truck in Whiter River, the home of the original bear inspiring Winnie the Pooh. A last stop in Wawa for provisions and internet at the visitor center before we head into Lake Superior Provincial Park for three nights. We arrived a day early for our reservation by mistake so had to move the second night but we got a waterfront site with a spectacular sunset view over Lake Superior. We hiked along Sand River Falls trail and hiked to the Agawa Pictographs. The next day we hiked around Orphan Lake in the rain and had a picnic lunch at Katherines Cover before visiting the park visitor center with its interactive exhibits. We did laundry at the campground and was glad to be rid of our soaking wet clothes.
