Bumpus Mills Campground at the Land Between the Lakes on the Tennessee River near Bumpus Mills, Tennessee

In searching for a bakery for breakfast in downtown Jasper, we spotted the painted mules on the sidewalks. We ended up at Cracker Barrel along with a crowd of travelers. Our route headed us up through Tennessee stopping to camp at the Land Between the Lakes on the Tennessee River on the Kentucky border. We passed by the Bumpus Mills Diner hoping that it would be open in the morning for breakfast but found out from the ranger that they are closed on Mondays. It was a hot 92 degrees when we set up our lawn chairs in the shade by the lake to sip our beers. We had another great waterfront site and our neighbors had their boat pulled up to the shore. We fixed another great one pot meal with ham and veggies and orzo. It was too hot to walk around the lake to check out the marina so we passed by the marina on the way out in the morning after cooking corned beef hash for breakfast. It was nice and cool at  6 am.
