Mount Morris, New York to Watertown, New York

We had a beautiful drive back to Geneseo to our breakfast place and then on past the finger lakes stopping at the Visitor Center in Geneva on Lake Seneca. Our next stop was at the Zugibe Winery With A View on Lake Seneca. We tasted five of their dry red wines and then enjoyed a glass of their Cabernet Sauvigon on the back patio with a spectacular view of the lake with the air cannons periodically going off to shoo the birds away from the vines. We continued our drive along the Erie Canal and stopped at the old Byron Lock Museum and toured the tavern which was established before they moved the canal and enlarged it. We headed towards Lake Ontario and followed the Great Lakes Seaway Trail to the Southwick Beach State Park for two nights.

The next morning we took our coffee to the beach and walked  along the hard packed sand.  We took off and continued our drive along the Great Lakes Seaway Trail and stopped at Sackets Harbor and toured the Battlefield Historic Site. We continued on to Cape Vincent and then on to Clayton for lunch at the Old Boat Brewery. We wandered the waterfront and gazed across to Canada and the Thousand Islands. The Thousand Islands Museum was a step back in time. We found our way to the farmers market for local cabbage and tomatoes and back to camp for a cool night and jacket weather. We had woken up to brilliant sunshine and then clouds the rest of the day but we have avoided the nasty weather along the the rest of the northeast.
