Terra Alta, West Virginia to Wise, Virginia

We woke up to a chilly 44 degrees and sunshine as we head south back to our Harvest Host Mountain Rose Vineyards that we visited on our way north in Wise, Virginia. The winery had a tent set up for visitors picking concord and Niagra grapes to make jelly. These vines were propagated from the original great grandfather's vines that border the family home. We grabbed some clippers and a bucket and filled it up with huge purple and red grapes. We set out our lawn chairs under the huge maple tree and indulged in Virginia grapes and wine, Vermont cheese and New York gala apples for happy hour. After dinner, we took our lawn chairs to the perfect spot in the vineyard to watch the sunset. Again we were the only folks spending the night so it was quiet and peaceful.

Great view of the High Ground Brewing logo on the side of the warehouse as we left
