Forillon Parks Canada National Park, Gaspe, Quebec, Canada

We fixed another ham and cheese egg frittata in the Air Fryer for breakfast before we packed up and headed out along the scenic drive along the Saint Lawerence Seaway. We stopped at Walmart and a Super C grocery store for our provisioning for the next three days at the Parks Canada National Park. Even though it is in French Quebec, the signs are also in English. It was a beautiful sunny drive along the coast with each small waterfront town having a tourist rest stop park. We stopped at Tim Horton's for a second cup of coffee and a carrot muffin. The route took us up some steep inclines and then back down to the rocky coast. We are now off the Gulf of Saint Lawerence and on a peninsula around Gaspe. We got camp set up and then hiked through the campground to the recreation center checking out the cafe and laundry before heading to the pebble beach. Tomorrow we have to move campsites as it is a busy weekend so we'll park at the beach parking lot and hike the land's end trail.

We woke up to rain sooner than expected so we packed up camp and took Cutie with us as we had to check out by 11 am and headed to the parking lot near the trailhead for the Grande-Grave hike to Cap Gaspe. We parked near the dock for the whale-watching tours and headed onto the trail. It was beautifully maintained and followed the water crossing over to the bike trail in places. We hiked the final climb to the lighthouse at Land's End. The thunderstorm and black clouds moved on top of us as we jumped back into the car with a lightning strike nearby. We headed back to the camper for lunch, then showered at the brand new bathhouse, and then drove into the town of Gaspe. Since it was early afternoon, we got seated on the patio and enjoyed seafood linguine with lobster, shrimp, and scallops and a bouillabaisse with that plus cod. It was the best seafood meal in a long time and great service.

We cooked breakfast and then drove to the Sentier La Chutes  Trailhead to the waterfall trail. Next, we drove to Cap des Rosiers and toured the lighthouse grounds. We parked nearby at the Sentier Du Blanc Trailhead and walked to the Irish Memorial and then onto the Visitor Information and Discovery Center with an interesting stamp exhibit based on astronomy and international stamps. The club president helped translate for us into English the highlights. We stopped along the way and ate our picnic lunch and then stopped for a cafe latte in the visitor center cafe when the thunderstorm blew through. We waited for the rain to pass and then hiked back to the car. We then drove back past the campground to another visitor center and hiked the trail along the peninsula beach and through the marsh stopping at the duck blind to bird watch. Black clouds loomed again as we headed back to camp to grill dinner. As we packed up, the rain started again as we headed to the shower and then to do laundry.
