Mathews Arm Campground in Shenandoah National Park, Rileyville, VIrginia

We got an early start driving through the rolling hills into Front Royal, Virginia at mile zero of Skyline Drive. We stopped at the visitor center for the maps of Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We ate lunch outdoors at the cafe next door as the rain started. It had been cloudy all day and Front Royal is only 25 miles from our campground. We were without cell phone coverage the last two days and may be out of range for the next week while we are on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The rain was intermittent as we arrived at Mathews Arm Campground. We put the awning up and enjoyed listening to the rain but it kept us from doing any hiking there. Just when we thought the rain had stopped it would start up again.
