We headed down the road from Endless Brewery to Donuts and Ammo shop for a quick coffee and cinnamon roll with donuts to go. Only in rural Pennsylvania would you have a shop selling donuts and ammunition. We stopped in Cumberland at the C & O Canal Visitor Center and walked to the local pub for a beer and pizza. As the heat wave temperature topped out at 97 today we rushed through the walking tour and headed to New Germany State Park. On our first night we did not have electricity and then moved to an electric site the next day. We were preparing to cook breakfast outdoors with the thunderstorm moved in so we quickly finished cooking inside and waited for the rain to pass. We donned our rain jackets and drove to New Germany Lake and the rain started again so we found a pavilion and had our picnic lunch when finally we had blue skies. We did the loop trail around the lake and the apple orchards and then the turnpike trail along the creek to the Acorn Trail, to the Dog Leg Trail to the Cabin trail ending back up where we started. Our gas grill decided to die and good thing we were prepared to cook dinner in the air fryer. We had a pleasant evening as the campground was deserted.
