Kouchibougac National Park, Kouchibougac, New Brunswick, Canada

We got an early start packing up at 6:30 am and leaving the beautiful Forillion National Park headed along the coastal route back through Gaspe. We stopped in Perce to view the awesome Perce Rock and take pictures. We stopped at Tim Horton's for a second cup of coffee and we were completely clueless with the cashier only speaking French so we got coffee with milk and two muffins and two doughnuts. Oh well, we enjoyed it all at the next city park we stopped at. It was a long drive and we stopped for a picnic lunch as we crossed the bridge from Quebec to New Brunswick Province. Some locals stopped us in the parking lot making sure we weren't lost as we made our way towards the coast at Kouchigougac National Park. This is a huge waterfront park and we landed a campsite along the water. We quickly put up the screened-in porch as the mosquitoes had been fierce and enjoyed a relaxing evening after a 10-hour drive and losing an hour due to the time zone change.

View to Perce Rock

Impressive

Every street corner had a decorated bicycle

Two more lighthouses along the coast

Gorgeous churches with similar architecture

Bridge from Quebec to New Brunswick province

Toured the salmon fishing exhibit at Visitor Center and had a picnic lunch

Our waterfront campsite at Kouchibougac National Park
We cooked a leisurely breakfast and then walked to the bike trail from the campsite. We went past the fisherman's marina across the Kouchibougac River and past Ryan's kayak rentals and along to Kelly's cafe before walking the boardwalk to the barrier island. It was a beautiful sunny day before most of the crowd got to the beach and we walked a couple miles before the bugs attacked us as the winds had died down. We ate our picnic lunch overlooking the water and then back to the screened-in porch for a beer and a nap. We made pulled chicken and black bean taco bowls in the instant pot with our fresh ears of corn with rice and salsa. The rain is predicted to come in tonight and be raining tomorrow so we will pack it up tonight and be ready to go in the morning,
